Zinc finger protein 804A or ZNF804A is a human protein that has a zinc finger in its structure.

Clinical significance

In a genome-wide study conducted in 2008, the rs1344706 SNP of the gene was shown to associate with schizophrenia.[1] Later, the same SNP was reported to correlate with slightly disturbed functional coupling of several brain regions in healthy persons, according to authors, resembling the changes described in schizophrenia.[2]
